CRM Membrane for Beer Yeast Recovery

CRM Membrane for Beer Yeast Recovery
Background
During beer processing, there is a part of yeast slurry remaining in the bottom of the tank which still includes some valuable beer. Vacuum drum filtrater or centrifugal is normally applied to recovery the beer in the beer bottom tank. but it is low efficiency because of its low precision separation.
Yeast slurry produced therefrom is about 2~3% of total beer amount, and about 1% of yeast slurry can be reused to ferment again, and the remainder becomes waste disposal. But it is rich in high protein (>45% of total solid content) and beer(90~99% liquid), and used to be treated with plate and frame, vacuum filter or centrifugal in traditional method. But not only it is low efficiency but also produces a lot of waste disposal of diatomite, wastes rich resource.
As a supplier of solution to filtration problem with ceramic membrane for many years, TANGENT developed a kind of cross-flow filter with ceramic membrane to separate yeast from beer, both recovered large amount of beer and recovered nutritious yeast as fodder, produced high economic benefits.
